How to Use Module Management Fields?
When adding or editing a module, there are several fields that determine how the module will appear on the page. These fields are used to manage the module's title, description, order, and placement within the page.
- Title: This is the title field that can be displayed on the module.
- Caption: Can be used to display a short description above or near the module.
- Order: If there is more than one module on the page, this determines the order in which the relevant module is displayed.
- Group Selection: Used to determine which group structure the module will be associated with.
- Module Width: Used to determine the width of the module's appearance on the page.
- Link Redirect ID: Can be used for internal page redirects or link structures when needed.
- Maximum Content to Display: In some modules, this is used to specify the maximum number of pieces of content that can be displayed within that module.
Depending on the purpose of each module, some of these fields may be active and others passive. Therefore, it is recommended that you adjust the relevant fields according to the page's needs when adding modules.
What is the purpose of module order?
The Order field determines the order in which modules are displayed when multiple modules are used on the same page.
Modules with lower sequence numbers are generally displayed earlier on the page. To maintain a tidy page layout, it is recommended to plan the order of modules.
What is the purpose of group selection?
Group Selection is used to determine which content group the module will be associated with. This field is particularly useful when the same module needs to display different content on different pages.
For example, if a module is required to display only records belonging to a specific page or content group, a more controlled structure can be created by selecting the relevant group.
How to Use Module Width?
Module Width can be used to determine the width of a module's placement on the page. The selected width value can affect how the module is positioned within the design.
Depending on the page design, the module can be displayed at full width, in a narrower area, or at the default width determined by the theme.
What is a Link Redirect ID?
The Link Redirect ID can be used in some cases for internal page links or redirect structures. This field can be particularly helpful in scenarios where you want to direct a visitor to a specific section of the page.
What is the maximum content that can be displayed?
Some modules have a "Maximum Content to Display" field. This field is used to determine the maximum number of content items that can be listed within that module.
For example, if a page lists content, testimonials, comments, or similar records belonging to a specific group, the number of pieces of content displayed on the page can be limited via this section.
If this field is left blank or the default value is used, the module may operate according to the default display settings defined in the system. If you want to display a specific number of items, simply enter an appropriate number in this field.
When determining the amount of content to display, it's important to consider page design and user experience. Showing too much content can make the page look cluttered or load slower.
What should be considered when adding modules?
When adding modules to pages, it's important to consider both page layout and visitor experience. Using too many or unnecessary modules can make the page look cluttered.
- Add the module to the page where it's actually needed.
- Design the title and subtitle areas to guide the user.
- Arrange the modules in order according to the other content on the page.
- If group selection is required, make sure you select the correct group.
- Make sure the page is open.
- Check the front end of the page after making the changes.
- If the module has a Maximum Content Display field, determine how many pieces of content will be displayed on the page according to your needs.
What should be done after saving the changes?
After adding or updating a module, it is recommended to check the appearance of the relevant page on the website. This will ensure that the module is displayed in the correct place, in the correct order, and as expected.
If the module is not visible, check the page access, module status, group selection, sequence information, or content records of the relevant module. Additionally, if caching is used, you should refresh the cache for that page via Operational Actions → Caching .
